Risk Analysis Portfolio Tracking (RAPT) Database RAPT (Risk Analysis Portfolio Tracking) is a database for capturing, archiving and analyzing pre-drill and post-drill snapshots of prospect, well and zone information including resources and chance of success. The first RAPT module, Performance Tracker, is a learning tool that compares pre- and post-drill resource, costs and timing estimates. With flexible graphing and filtering capabilities, you can easily track failure modes as well as uncover estimation bias and, thereby, improve future predictions. Developed in partnership with 3ES Innovation Inc. (formerly Aralan Solutions, Inc.), RAPT provides an easy import from R&A’s Prospect Risk Analysis Suite (MMRA and MZM) spreadsheets into RAPT’s Microsoft® SQL Server database. * If you are not a R&A Prospect Risk Analysis Suite user, you can still use RAPT to capture and analyze the pre- and post-drill characteristics of your prospects. RAPT provides an “adapter” interface that allows you to easily bridge estimates from one or more of your company’s proprietary resource analysis spreadsheets for transfer into the RAPT database. Once the database is populated, there are over twenty pre-defined discovery estimate diagnostic charts including cross-plots, multi-component plots and error percentile histograms to examine estimation accuracy and identify biases. Several additional charts allow you to investigate failures by observing predicted versus actual success rates, number of discoveries and failure modes contributing to wildcat dry holes. The data can be filtered based on prospect information including: country, business unit, basin, play type, formation, reservoir lithology and environment of deposition, spud and completion dates, depths, chance of success, etc. In addition, the data can be filtered and exported back into a compiled Microsoft Excel spreadsheet where you can continue with your own custom analysis and plotting. Future modules envisioned to be developed within the RAPT foundation include: Prospect/Well/Zone Inventory, Play Inventory and Monte Carlo Portfolio Rollup. Contact us today to learn more about this valuable software tool and how it will become an important part of your exploration opportunity resource estimate forecasts. Or, request a Trial Evaluation Package to see for yourself how easy it is to implement sophisticated, risk analysis learning processes. *RAPT uses Microsoft’s® latest .NET technology and requires Microsoft® SQL Server 2000 and either Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
