Instruction on Prospect and Play Risk Analysis

We teach popular and well-respected prospect and play risk analysis courses worldwide.  These courses emphasize the link between finding hydrocarbons and making a profit, all from the perspective of repeated trials within the E&P portfolio.  We focus on probability and uncertainty as it pertains to the petroleum system for better estimation processes for resource distributions and chance determinations, and hence more-informed investments.  We feature behind-the-scenes looks at how software operates to enhance communication and decision making across the management and staff interface.  Courses are designed for both decision makers and technical staff in the exploration and development realm, and include our innovative “surgical theater” setting that directly converts concepts to prospect applications.  We also offer courses on risk analysis of seismic amplitudes, risk mitigation and other special themes.

Practical Consulting Services

We consult on the design of risk analysis systems, the role and makeup of prospect consistency teams and how to overcome any associated roadblocks.  Our staff regularly provides independent, baseline play and prospect assessments for expert testimony, due diligence for investment decisions; and guidance in negotiations associated with prospect marketing and disputed acreage.

Integrated Software Solutions

With over 80 licenses in over 40 companies on five continents, our risk analysis software is established as the de facto industry standard for user-friendly probabilistic play and prospect characterization and portfolio analysis.  These software modules follow the processes of probabilistic risk analysis we teach, and are regularly upgraded through licensee feedback.  We also coordinate a consortium of companies, the Rose & Associates DHI Interpretation and Analysis Consortium, dedicated to more effective evaluation of seismic amplitude-bearing prospects.  The Consortium-generated SAAM, the seismic amplitude analysis module, complete with a large worldwide drilled prospect database, to provide a clear, calibrated and thorough evaluation of your amplitude target.
